"Griogal Cridhe" Sung by Anacoustic Mind


A Quick history lesson from Frank Wood Presents Friday the 13th show at The Delancey (168 Delancey Street NY NY 10002). "Griogal Cridhe" Performed by Scottish Reggae band Anacoustic Mind.
One of the most famous lullabies in Gaelic is the song known as 'Beloved Gregor'. It is also known as the Glenlyon Lament. It was composed after the execution of Gregor MacGregor by the Campbells in 1570. Gregor was beheaded in front of his wife. In the song, Gregor's grief-stricken widow describes the horror of what happened, as she sings to her child.


(Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay

Just a quickie. February saw the closing of CHoGA Korean/Japanese Restaurant NYC (145 Bleecker Street). This was also once the location of The Tin Angel in the 60's and 70's.
Before closing though, was legendary singer/songwriter Alan Merrill's birthday on February 19th. below is just one of the many songs that were sung that night.
